Duties Description Under the direction of a Principal Accountant, the incumbent will supervise a unit within the Accounting Office and will perform accounting work requiring professional knowledge and application of accounting principles and procedures. Review current procedures, make recommendations for possible procedural changes as well as keeping supervisor apprised of the status of work assignments. Carry out day to day operations including banking processes, accounting entries, fiscal analyses, and various other duties.
Minimum Qualifications If Civil Service Eligible list(s) exist, they will be canvassed. You may also apply if you are eligible for appointment by one of the following qualifications:
70.1 Transfer Qualifications:
One year of permanent or contingent-permanent as a Grade 23 or higher determined to be similar* by Civil Service.
*Transfer candidates must possess a bachelor's in accounting, auditing, or taxation OR
a bachelor's or higher degree** with 24 semester credit hours in accounting, auditing, or taxation courses.
**Please note that courses such as business law, economics, statistics, and most finance courses, although taken as part of an accounting curriculum, cannot be counted toward the 24 semester credit hours.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to initiate and maintain relationships across a diverse set of stakeholders. Strong excel skills and knowledge of SFS.
