Duties Description The Facility Operations Assistant 2 will be responsible for ensuring orderly parking and public use at busy trailheads and collecting and tabulating visitor use data in the town of Keene, Essex County. Other tasks will vary with program needs and may include performing maintenance on recreational facilities such as trails and campsites, and inventorying recreational facilities.
The job will require working four, ten-hour days per week. Actual work schedule, duties and travel requirements may vary and will be discussed at the interview.

Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
One year of service as a Facility Operations Assistant 1 or Motor Vehicle Operator; or two years of full-time, verifiable experience in custodial, grounds, or maintenance operation or assisting in a journey-level trade.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with outdoor recreation activities.
Knowledge of the Adirondack Park and New York State lands.
Ability to interact with people and remain courteous and helpful, even in difficult situations.
Competence with Microsoft Office products.
Attention to details.
Positive, friendly demeanor.
Additional Comments This is a seasonal, hourly appointment with an anticipated end date of 10/14/2026. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date.
Must have a valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position.
Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain.
Must be able to work in remote areas.
Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions.
Weekends and holidays may be required.
Must be able to lift and move objects up to 40 pounds.
