Duties Description The Office of Mental Health (OMH) is recruiting to an Office Assistant 3, G-14, position in the Office of Financial Management, Consolidated Business Office.
Specific duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Supervise/lead a team
• Assign work; schedule workflow; train, establish work performance standards;
review work performance and production; determine the nature of problems and
take corrective action.
• Provide advice to and otherwise assist supervisors in planning, organizing,
scheduling, and coordinating work operations and work procedures.
• Provide technical assistance to Program Managers and Facility Business Officers to facilitate the
successful processing of documents to the CBO.
• Ensure all documents/information received by the unit are reviewed timely and forwarded to the BSC
and/or appropriate staff and/or CBO unit for processing.
• Ensure staff is reviewing documents/information in the appropriate database(s), modules, etc. (i.e. BSC
FileNet and/or the Statewide Financial System (SFS)) in a timely manner and are forwarded to the appropriate staff and/or facility/Central Office contact for review/further processing.
• Serve as OMH Liaison with Facilities, Program Managers, BSC and Vendors
• Assist with the development and maintenance of unit Standard Operating Procedures and information
placed on the CBO web site.
• Review staff time cards and time off requests.
Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be employed by New York State to be eligible to apply for this position.
Transfer Opportunity: Candidates must have permanent status as an Office Assistant 3, G-14, and be eligible for lateral transfer, OR be eligible for transfer via 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
Additional Comments The Consolidated Business Office is conveniently located in independent offices on the grounds of the Capital District PC at 75 New Scotland Avenue, Albany, New York. Free parking is available across the street.
