Duties Description The Parks and Recreation Aide 5, SG-NS - Storehouse Helper assists with receiving, organizing, storing, and distributing materials, supplies, and equipment used in park operations. This position is ideal for someone dependable, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor 4, SG-21 at Bear Mountain State Park, the selected candidate’s duties will include, but not be limited to:

• Receive and unload deliveries and shipments.
• Organize and maintain inventory in storage areas.
• Distribute supplies and materials to park staff as needed.
• Assist with inventory counts and record keeping.
• Operate basic warehouse equipment and hand tools safely.
• Maintain clean and orderly workspaces.
• Support other maintenance and operational tasks as assigned.
• Work effectively independently as well as in a team setting.
• Adhere to the agency’s Code of Conduct Policy and ensure compliance with all guidelines, policies, and procedures in the performance of daily tasks.

Minimum Qualifications There are no minimum qualifications for this title per Civil Service.

Additional Comments OPERATIONAL NEEDS:
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license that allows the candidate to legally operate a motor vehicle in New York State as a term and condition of employment.
• Must have the ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds.
• Must possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Forklift experience is preferred but not required.
