Duties Description • Lead annual review and update of Department/ETO program area plans and protocol (COOP, Playbook, EMOP, MAPs, etc.).
• Assist in the Department’s emergency activation preparation tasks.
• Participate in the Department’s emergency response efforts – Planning Section Chief/STICC IC and serving as agency representative at the Office of Emergency Management to support the State Emergency Operations Center.
• Lead program area related training sessions (Planning Section trainings) and oversee updates to training materials for several program area related applications/tools (examples: ERS SharePoint, ETO SharePoint)
• Organize and analyze emergency event financial data for the Department.
• Lead ETO Tableau Metrics Dashboard efforts.
• Attend multi-agency meetings, as necessary.
• Coordinate with Regional Emergency Managers and partner agency representatives, as necessary.
• Support the development and updates of emergency management related trainings.
• Manage two SharePoint sites and oversee all updates.
• Participate in emergency management related exercises (including multi-agency exercises), as necessary.
• Coordinate necessary documentation for EMAC missions supported by DOT – serve as a liaison between OEM and DOT for EMAC items.
• Present program area specific presentations, as necessary
Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department's response to regional and statewide emergency situations.
Minimum Qualifications To be considered for permanent appointment, candidates must be reachable from the appropriate Civil Service eligible list or be eligible for reassignment or transfer in accordance with Civil Service Law.
Additional Comments Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
The salary range listed reflects the full range for this graded position. For new State employees appointed into graded positions, the annual salary is the hiring rate (beginning of the Salary Range) of the position. Promotion salaries are calculated by the NYS Office of the State Comptroller in accordance with NYS Civil Service Law, OSC Payroll rules and regulations and negotiated union contracts.
