Duties Description As a Supervising Labor Services Representative (SLSR) in the Office of Workforce Development (OWD) you would supervise professional and clerical staff through the development of a cohesive team that focuses on meeting Department needs by directing staff in a uniform approach ensuring the delivery of services to the agency’s customers. You may be responsible for representing the Commissioner of Labor and the Division Director at meetings with local workforce investment boards, the local Chamber of Commerce and other community-based organizations.
Minimum Qualifications If Civil Service Eligible list(s) exists, they will be canvassed.

Subsequent 55 B/C Qualifications:
A subsequent 55-b/c appointment may be considered if you have one year of permanent or contingent-permanent service in a Grade 18 (or, higher) title determined to be similar by Civil Service and have a current Civil Service 55-b/c approval letter.
Reassignment Qualifications: (DOL Employees ONLY)
Current Department of Labor employees with at least one year of permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55-b/c service in a Supervising Labor Services Representative title; if you have less than one year, you must be reachable on the current Supervising Labor Services Representative eligible list for this location, if one exists.
52.6 Transfer Qualifications:
One year of permanent or contingent-permanent service in a Grade 20 (or, higher) title determined to be administrative by Civil Service.
70.1 Transfer Qualifications:
One year of permanent or contingent-permanent service in the following titles determined to be similar by Civil Service may qualify for transfer pursuant to Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law:
• Employment Counselor – Grade 18
• Employment Counselor Spanish Language – Grade 18
• Employment Services Rep – Grade 18
• Investigative Officer 2 Unempl Insur – Grade 20
• Senr Admnv Analyst – Grade 18
• Senr Unemp Insur Hearing Rep – Grade 20
• Senr Unemp Insur Reviewing Examiner – Grade 20
• Unemp Insur Accounts Support Supvr 1 – Grade 20
• Workforce Programs Specialist 1 – Grade 18

Position specific job duties may include occasional altered work schedule or job assignments which require availability and willingness to work occasional evenings and/or out-stationed assignments.
Candidates with no previous state service will begin at the starting rate of the salary range listed above.
