Duties Description The incumbent will work in the Division of Eligibility and Marketplace Integration within the Bureau of Quality Management and Change Control as a Medicaid Eligibility Examiner 4. The MEE 4 will supervise staff, oversee quality assurance activities, support consumer issue resolution, and collaborate with program partners to ensure the effective delivery of public health insurance services.
Specific duties may include:
Provide supervision to lower level staff; including training; scheduling and monitoring workloads and ensuring work is completed timely and accurately;
Field electronic referrals from the contact center;
Work with appropriate staff to resolve consumer issues;
Identify and track changes to policy and procedure documents; Conduct quality (QA) reviews of work completed by the NY State of Health customer service center contractor using established QA procedures;
Assist with compiling QA results data;
Maintain cooperative working relationships with other units, division, departments, and agencies to facilitate the delivery of public health insurance.

Minimum Qualifications Permanent Transfer: Current New York State Department of Health employee with permanent or contingent-permanent status as a Medicaid Eligibility Examiner 4, Grade 21.

Preferred Qualifications: Preferred candidates will have professional experience in public health insurance programs, including New York’s Medicaid, and/or Child Health Plus. Preferred candidates will also have excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong analytical skills and attention to detail; strong organizational skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access); the ability to work well independently and as part of a team, and to manage multiple priorities in order to meet deadlines; experience using electronic data systems, such as eMedNY and NYSOH Back Office; and supervisory experience
