Duties Description Under the direction of The Maintenance Supervisor 1, SG-14 with the Harriman Group Camps Field Carpenter Crew, the selected candidate’s duties will include, but not be limited to:
• Assist in repairing historic wooden structures using various hand and power tools.
• Perform proper tree care operations including tree removal and pruning, from aerial lifts and the ground.
• Clean up of work site before, during, and after construction projects.
• Assist in snow removal, shoveling snow, and operation of vehicles used to plow snow during the winter months.
• Assist in performing a wide variety of carpentry work, roofing, plumbing repairs, minor electrical work, and dock work.
• Assist other areas of park maintenance and operations as needed.
• Work effectively in a team setting and demonstrate flexibility in tasks.
• Adhere to the agency’s Code of Conduct Policy and ensure compliance with all guidelines, policies, and procedures in the performance of daily tasks.

Additional Comments OPERATIONAL NEEDS:
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license that allows the candidate to legally operate a motor vehicle in New York State as a term and condition of employment.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including winter conditions and extreme heat.
• Must have the ability to perform medium to heavy physical labor.
• Must have the ability to operate a chainsaw and must complete OPRHP sawyer training or equivalent within one year and maintain it as a term and condition of employment. This training will be provided by OPRHP.
