Duties Description Reporting to the Chief Medical Facilities Auditor, duties include but are not limited to:
• Plan and oversee audits of nursing homes and other medical facilities receiving Medicaid payments that are based on cost or that are subject to audit.
• Review, edit and approve audit work, correspondence, and reports.
• Work with the supervisors to coordinate fieldwork.
• Approve audit work, correspondence, and reports
• Offer technical advice to Office of Counsel throughout the litigation process including testifying if necessary.
• Disseminate policy revisions to staff to assure uniform application of policies and resolve conflicts.
• Represent the OMIG in meetings and discussions with government agencies, providers, health care associations, and other stakeholders.
• Provide supervision and mentor direct staff.

Minimum Qualifications To be eligible for appointment, candidates must be reachable on the OMIG promotional list for Auditor 3 (Medicaid) title or be a current New York State employee with one year of permanent or contingent permanent service in a title deemed eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.*

*Must possess 24 semester credit hours in Accounting, Auditing or Taxation.

Preferred Qualifications: Excellent written communication (both verbal and written), analytical, interpersonal and supervisory skills. Specific experience and knowledge in the Medicaid nursing home rate methodology and audit process.

Additional Comments Position is eligible for location pay of $4,000
