Duties Description Within the Claims Unit of the Bureau of Financial Services the Associate Accountant will perform the following duties under the general direction of a Supervising Accountant:
• Supervise at least one Senior Accountant/Accountant Trainee.
• Perform and supervise of activities related to all phases of settlements of Local Social Services Districts' claims for reimbursement including:
• Prepare or supervise preparation of the RF2/2A settlements monthly, RF3, RF6, and RF17 settlements quarterly, and the RF2/2A, RF3 for St. Regis monthly.
• Prepare or supervise preparation of additional RF settlements and other settlements as necessary.
• Supervise settlement of the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) and Youth Employment Program (YEP) claims and preparation of related documentation.
• Review policy directives to assist in entering RF17 Special Projects and program allocations.
• Participate in the testing of revisions to the Settlement System as necessary.
• Participate in design and testing of SQL reports created from claiming database.

Minimum Qualifications Eligible for a lateral transfer or eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law by having one year of permanent competitive service in an appropriate title.
