Duties Description Manhattan Psychiatric Center is recruiting for a Social Work Supervisor 1 LCSW to supervise social work staff and plan, develop, implement, and evaluate social work programs and services. Candidates within State Service can apply.
As a Social Work Supervisor 1 LCSW, your duties will include:
• Supervising social work staff
• Diagnosing mental, emotional, behavioral disorders
•Administering and interpreting tests and measures of psychosocial functioning
• Developing and implementing assessment-based treatment plans
• Providing psychotherapy and psychotherapeutic treatment
• Completing required records and documentation
Minimum Qualifications Candidates within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they are reachable on the current Social Work Supervisor 1 LCSW eligible list.
OR
Employees appointed to a non-competitive position via the NY HELPS program to a qualifying title in the non-competitive class will have their names restricted from appointment from the eligible list until their position is covered-in to the competitive class by action of the New York State Civil Service Commission or otherwise obtain permanent competitive status in the position.
If you have received a permanent appointment to a qualifying title listed and served provisionally in that title immediately preceding your permanent appointment, such provisional service may be counted towards meeting the one year time in title required for appointment from the eligible list.
In the event that there is not a valid eligible list, candidates who meet the following promotion qualifications may be qualified for a provisional appointment:
Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as a a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Master Social Worker, Licensed Master Social Worker (Chinese Language), Licensed Master Social Worker (Korean Language), Licensed Master Social Worker (Manual Communications), or Licensed Master Social Worker (Spanish Language) (formerly Licensed Master Social Worker 1 or 2 and associated language parenthetics) AND; you must also be currently licensed and registered as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York State.
If you are appointed provisionally, you must take the next examination for this title and your score must be reachable on the resulting eligible list before you can be permanently appointed. If you do not pass the examination or achieve a reachable score, you may not be retained.

Additional Comments:
Posted hiring rate includes the sum of the statutory hiring rate for PS&T Grade 25 ($96,336), Geographic Pay Differential ($18,000), and Downstate Adjustment ($4,000). The posted job rate is the sum of the statutory job rate ($121,413), Geographic Pay Differential ($18,000), and Downstate Adjustment ($4,000).

1. If you fail to maintain your license and/or registration once you are appointed, action will be taken to remove you from the position.
2. In order to be eligible for appointment and to maintain employment, you cannot be listed as an excluded individual or entity on any of the Federal and/or State Medicaid and Medicare exclusion lists (or excluded from any other Federal or Federally assisted program). If you are appointed and subsequently listed as an excluded individual or entity on any of these lists (or excluded from any other Federal or Federally assisted program), you may be terminated from your employment.
3. If appointed you may be required to become an enrolled Medicare provider; obtain and provide to your employer a National Provider Identifier (NPI) number issued by the National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES); and otherwise actively participate to the degree necessary to allow for your services to be billed through Medicare and Medicaid. If you are appointed and you lose the ability to bill through Medicare and Medicaid, you may be terminated from your employment.
