Duties Description As a Security Hospital Treatment Chief, you would direct, manage, and coordinate all security hospital treatment services and activities in a maximum security forensic psychiatric center operated by OMH. You would direct the participation of security hospital treatment staff in the treatment process of individuals with mental illness; perform the full range of administrative, supervisory, and fiscal responsibilities; develop and implement facility rules, regulations, policies, and guidelines; and participate on interdisciplinary operational committees.


Minimum Qualifications Open to all qualified employees of the New York State Office of Mental Health. Candidates must be reachable for appointment on the current Civil Service eligible list for the title;

OR


Candidates from within State Service can be considered transfer via Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. To qualify for a Section 70.1 transfer, candidates must have at least one year of permanent status, in a qualifying title approved for transfer by Civil Service, within two salary grades of the M-1 level.

In accordance with Section 52.7 of the Civil Service Law, this notice advises all employees of the Office of Mental Health of our intention to conduct a non-competitive promotion examination for the position of Security Hospital Treatment Chief at Rochester Psychiatric Center. Permanent appointment may be made by non-competitive promotion of an applicant who meets the position’s minimum qualifications if all requirements of non-competitive promotion are met.

Promotion field for Security Hospital Treatment Chief consists of candidates who have 1 year permanent service as Security Hospital Supervising Treatment Assistant.
