Duties Description Supervise computer systems analysis and design application program development, systems testing, maintenance, and implementation.
This position is on the Enterprise Resource Planning Administration Team within the Chief Information Office.
Apply advanced skills in expediently installing, upgrading, and configuring enterprise software systems.
•
Coordinate and lead technical efforts with multiple teams and vendors involving varying technologies.
•
Troubleshoot critical issues on tight timelines, including off hours.
•
Plan and architect system solutions complying with agency standards.
•
Present briefings to supervisors and stakeholders.
•
Provide competent support following our SDLC methodology.
Minimum Qualifications To be appointed to this position, you must:
• Be reachable for appointment on the Information Technology Specialist 4 eligible list.
OR
• Be eligible for 52.6 or 70.1 transfer with one year of qualifying service in a title approved for transfer.
Additional Comments Preferred Qualifications/Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
• Demonstrated experience in Oracle PeopleSoft Administration (more than 2 years to 5 years).
• Demonstrated experience in supervision (1 year to 2 years).
• Demonstrated experience in the following technologies:
• PeopleSoft Enterprise 9.2
• PeopleSoft PeopleTools 8.6x and higher
• PeopleSoft Process Scheduler
• Oracle Weblogic/Tuxedo technology
• Oracle Policy Administration (OPA) and Policy Modeling
• Phire change control software and architecture
• Oracle OAS/ORDS
• Oracle APEX
• ERP testing tools such as Load Runner or TOSCA
• Demonstrated experience in installing and upgrading enterprise application server software.
• Demonstrated ability working well in a team environment and in leading team members toward the achievement of objectives.
• Demonstrated experience determining various methods to accomplish maintenance tasks and determining which methods to improve customer service.
• Demonstrated experience troubleshooting applications, network communication, and storage communications problems, utilizing diagnostic tools to trace and resolve technical problems.
• Demonstrated experience to quickly get up to speed on new technology and to effectively research solutions to issues under narrow time constraints.
• Demonstrated experience tracking and resolving problems impact on continuing system operations.
• Demonstrated experience documenting procedures pertaining to server maintenance, configurations, change, and release management.
• Demonstrated experience addressing new software maintenance requirements and service outages.
• Excellent communication skills (both oral and written), and strong organizational skills.
Telecommuting: The Office of the New York State Comptroller (OSC) supports telecommuting where it is reasonable to do so based upon the agency’s mission and operational needs. Generally, employees new to OSC will be restricted from telecommuting for at least 8 calendar weeks. After the initial 8 calendar week restriction, if an employee’s primary residence location, duties, and work performance are aligned with telecommuting and operational needs they may be allowed to do so. Generally, OSC employees may telecommute up to 5 days per pay period but may be approved to telecommute less.
