Salary RangeFrom $47000 to $47000 Annually
Minimum Qualifications Education Level required: Bachelor’s degree with strong financial and economic development background. Professional degree or candidate, including masters in urban planning preferred.
Relevant experience required: 1-3 years’ experience in economic development or related field.
Knowledge required: City planning assessments; project development and government relations; public policy; data/financial analyses; effective writing and oral communication skills
Duties Description Basic Function: Support policy/initiative formulation and administration of projects and components of projects that advance the USA Niagara Development Corporation’s mission to encourage growth and renewal of the tourism industry in the City of Niagara Falls and for selected projects in ESD’s WNY Region.
Work Performed (List duties of this position):
•Assist in special planning efforts, studies, analyses, and other activities necessary to support the development and/or implementation of revitalization initiatives.
•Prepare and assist in the preparation of briefings, summaries, white papers, and other communications.
•Promote and assist in the administration of the Buffalo Avenue Microgrant and USA Niagara Downtown Grant Programs.
•Assist in the operations of USA Niagara-contracted operators of Old Falls Street and the Conference & Event Center Niagara Falls. Assist in the facilitation of long-term planning for capital improvements as well as assessment of day-to-day operations on the street.
•Provide staff support for Niagara Experience Center, Inc., the not-for-profit entity undertaking planning/feasibility of developing a new experiential museum in downtown Niagara Falls.
•Serve as liaison between the Western New York Regional Economic Development Council on behalf of USAN and ESD WNY on matters concerning tourism.
•Prepare administrative documents, including reports, presentation materials and origination documents.
•Monitor, prepare, and analyze Consolidated Funding Applications submitted to the Regional Office.
•Other projects as assigned by USA Niagara President, WNY Regional Director, and WNY Deputy Director.
