Proficiency using Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook and SharePoint).

Duties Description The Bureau of Supplemental Food Programs (BSFP) is currently recruiting for three (3) Health Program Administrator (HPA), G18 positions. BSFP administers the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), which provides breastfeeding support, nutrition counseling, health education, referrals for health care and other services, and nutritious foods to approximately 430,000 women, infants and children each month, through 92 local agency contracts valued at $134 million, at 400 service sites.
The Health Program Administrators will serve as liaisons with contractors, stakeholders, and other section staff to ensure a successful implementation of the program’s new web-based Management Information System (NYWIC) and eWIC, which is the Federal mandate to convert the current WIC paper checks to an electronic benefits card. These positions will participate in user acceptance testing, provide system technical assistance and on-site support required for roll-out to WIC local agencies. The HPA will also assist with creating and revising WIC policies and procedures to align with NYWIC/eWIC processes and participate and/or lead teams for ongoing projects.

Additional Comments Permanent or contingent-permanent, full-time two year traineeship leading to a G18. Occasional travel within New York State, including to locations that may not be served by public transportation, is required.
