Section 55-B/C: NYS employees with one year of permanent non-competitive service pursuant to Section 55-b/c of the Civil Service Law may be eligible for a new 55-b/c appointment to this position if
they meet the technical requirements for transfer pursuant to Civil Service Law §70.1 as stated above.
Duties Description STANDARD DUTIES: As an Office Assistant 1 (Stores) in the Administrative Finance Bureau Mailroom, you will perform the following duties:
- Open and sort the trays of incoming mail, distribute mail to the appropriate delivery carts, and deliver mail to various floors in Building 12
- While on rounds, collect outgoing mail from offices
- Meter outgoing mail and wrap pallets of mail going to the Post Office
- Assist on the mail sorter machine when needed
- Serve as back-up for sorting incoming and outgoing FedEx and UPS mailings
