Salary RangeFrom $20.18 to $23.82 Annually
Minimum Qualifications A bachelor’s degree AND one of the following requirements:
1. You must be a Veteran of the U.S. Armed Services who served on active duty for over 180 days for purposes other than training (unless you were released from active duty because of a service-connected disability) and received a discharge other than dishonorable. A copy of your DD-214 will be required;
Or 2. You must be the spouse of a person in the U.S. Armed Services who died of service-connected disabilities, the spouse of certain active duty individuals forcibly detained or listed as missing in action, or the spouse of a 100% disabled Veteran; **
Or 3. You must have served as a member of a reserve component in the U.S. Armed Services under an order to active duty during a period of war or in a campaign or expedition for which a campaign badge is authorized and received a discharge other than dishonorable. **
**Your eligibility must be verified by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
Duties Description The incumbent will conduct outreach to businesses and engage in advocacy efforts with hiring executives to increase employment opportunities for veterans; encourage the hiring of disabled veterans, and generally assist veterans to gain and retain employment.
The duties assigned to LVER (Local Veteran’ Employment Rep) staff members will promote to businesses, business associations, and business groups the advantages of hiring veterans. LVER staff members will advocate for all veterans served by the Career Centers and ensure easier access to appropriate employment and training services for job seeking veterans in their local market areas.
Additional Comments Position specific job duties may include occasional altered work schedule or job assignments which require availability and willingness to work occasional evening and/or out-stationed assignments.
