Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

New York State employees with less than one year permanent competitive service as a Sr. Employment Security Clerk may be eligible for reassignment to a different geographic location only if their score is reachable for appointment from the Civil Service list in the new location.

70.1 TRANSFER TO SR. EMPLOYMENT SECURITY CLERK QUALIFICATIONS: New York State employees with one year of permanent or contingent-permanent service in an appropriate title allocated to Grade 7 or higher may qualify for transfer pursuant to Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. Eligible titles include, but are not limited to:

Office Assistant 2 (Spanish Language), Grade 9
Office Assistant 2 Calculations, Grade 9
Office Assistant 2 Calculations (Chinese Language), Grade 9

SECTION 55-b/c EMPLOYEES QUALIFICATIONS: New York State employees with one year of permanent non-competitive service pursuant to Section 55-b/c of the Civil Service Lay, may be eligible for a new 55-b/c appointment to this position if they meet the technical requirements for transfer pursuant to Civil Service Law 70.1 as stated above.

Duties Description STANDARD DUTIES:

As a Sr. Employment Security Clerk, you would perform general clerical duties associated with Unemployment Insurance (UI) fraud investigations; correspond with claimants and employers via mail and telephone to assist with fraud investigations, and handle all clerical aspects of issuing determinations to claimants.
