Minimum Qualifications Applicants must have taken and passed a NYS Civil Service examination and be reachable off the Civil Service eligible list.

Duties Description SUNY Empire State College, Office of Enrollment Management and Marketing, is currently seeking an Office Assistant 1 (Keyboarding) at our Rochester, New York location.
•Primary point of contact for front desk reception coverage
•Responsible for providing general office support to assist the College and support the student experience
•Courteously and effectively provide customer service
•Answer questions and provide information to students and/or guests
•Utilize Service Now ticketing to address maintenance issues as appropriate
•Maintain location scheduling and calendar
•Maintain inventory and replenish college literature and office supplies
•Provide service calls and maintenance for office equipment
•Receive, pick up, deliver, open, appropriately record, time stamp, sort, and distribute mail, e-mail, or other forms of correspondence or communication, or goods, materials, or stores
•Responsible for following proper opening and closing procedures for location
•Record visitor and student location usage data
•Assist with event and meeting preparation and execution
•Attend college meetings as appropriate
•Maintain awareness of SUNY Empire's policies and procedures
•Seek professional development and attend ongoing training to enhance skills and knowledge in order to support the student experience
•Monitor and track status of program activities
•Make outbound phone calls as directed, answer inbound calls as directed
•Perform other routine clerical tasks as assigned by the Regional Operations Coordinator
•Provide substitute reception coverage as requested and perform support staff functions as appropriate for other coverage purposes as operating needs require
The incumbent will work closely with culturally diverse faculty, staff and students in a multicultural learning work environment.
