TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS: Current New York State employee with one year or more permanent, contingent-permanent or 55b/c service in a position allocated to a Grade 13 or higher may be eligible for transfer under section 70.1 or 52.6 of the Civil Service Law.

70.4 QUALIFICATIONS: Current New York State employee with one year or more of permanent, contingent-permanent or 55b/c service in a position allocated to a Grade 11 or higher and who has passed the PCO exam and has a bachelor’s degree may be eligible for appointment.

Duties Description STANDARD DUTIES:

The Training Specialist 1 will design and deliver a variety of training courses that may include job specific and customized training, workplace skills, management and supervisory training, mandatory training courses, and/or personal computer training to Department of Labor employees and partners throughout the state. Personal computer training would include all standardized software applications, including, but not limited to, Windows and Microsoft Office Suite. Additional duties related to the position: curriculum development and improvement; incorporation of technology and web-based applications in design and delivery of training; provision of technical support and consultation; event planning and support; facilitation and other staff and organizational development related activities as required.
