Minimum Qualifications Applicants must have taken and passed a NYS Civil Service examination and be reachable off the Civil Service eligible list.

Duties Description SUNY Empire State College, Office of Outreach and Retention Services, is currently seeking an Office Assistant 1 (Keyboarding) at our Coordinating Center located in Saratoga Springs.
Outreach and Retention Services is a relatively new office at the college, with a critical function to reach the enrollment goals of the college. The purpose of Outreach and Retention Services is to provide a supportive pathway for the successful enrollment of accepted students. The Office Assistant 1 (Keyboarding) will work with a team of 7 who jointly support this mission.
The Office Assistant 1 (Keyboarding) will provide administrative support for all aspects of retention services, including:
•Initiate and manage individual student problem resolution
•Engage accepted students in both the online and regional settings to support and promote a sense of community and ensure student success
•Support the creation and sending of correspondence for immediate supervisor and Retention Services Specialists
•Monitor and document student retention data in order to support the identification of retention gaps and the design of effective intervention strategies
•Be accountable to Retention Services Specialists
•Coordinate and be involved with projects which are assigned
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate an ability to:
•Collaborate with team members to enhance the overall functionality of the team
•Effectively brainstorm for technological systems
•Work closely with other constituents, such as ITS
The successful candidate will be expected to:
•Use college technology applications to support and monitor activities and outcomes
•Have a comprehensive understanding of technological systems, as well as non-technological systems and how to best use them
•Innovate and improve the services provided by the college
