Transfer qualifications: One year of permanent, competitive service as a Senior Security Officer.
Provisional Minimum Qualifications: One year of permanent, competitive service as a Security Officer.
Duties Description The Senior Security Officer, under the general direction of the Coordinator of Safety and Security Services for the Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge (MMCB), supervises the daily activities of MMCB Security Officers; operates and monitors security camera Physical Security Information Management System, as required; trains and evaluates Security Officers; performs foot patrols to observe performance of Security Officers on duty; responds to elevated concerns identified by Security Officers, directs additional security resources to manage event, and reports on such to upper management; prepares reports on daily activities; maintains knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations governing security operations applicable to MMCB; and may perform all the duties of the Security Officer as needed.
Additional Comments Selected candidates must undergo a background investigation prior to appointment.
If appointed provisionally, candidate must take the next Civil Service exam for Senior Security Officer and obtain a reachable score on the resulting eligible list in order to be appointed permanently.
There is annual location pay differential of $3,026 with this position.
