The preferred candidate should be a highly motivated, cooperative, and efficient individual interested in working in a fast paced, high volume, dynamic legal environment. The candidate must have good organizational skills; the ability to adjust workflow amongst the team with shifting priorities; competence entering information into electronic databases; proficient communications skills.
Duties Description The incumbent will perform tasks which fall into four broad categories: CHRC communication, call center staff coordination, organization, and CHRC electronic records maintenance. Within these categories, the incumbent performs a variety of tasks which enable managers and legal staff to accomplish the mission of the CHRC Legal Unit. Incumbent receives incoming telephone inquiries from the public, which includes prospective employees of nursing homes, home health care agencies and adult care facilities, in addition to health care providers, and provides responses/guidance where appropriate; reviews incoming CHRC call center voicemail; researches electronic case files for specific background information, and conducts appropriate follow-up with the prospective employee or provider; documents all contacts in the electronic case file, and conducts follow-up with appropriate legal staff. Incumbent handles telephone calls and responds to questions; coordinates with other call center staff in order to ensure smooth work flow; maintains call center procedures; maintains CHRC electronic case file systems; assists with scanning and accurately documenting incoming information into the correct electronic files; assists in resolving day-to-day call center operational problems; coordinates information flow by acting as liaison among key legal staff, and other unit employees, and the public; operates multi-function copier equipment; and computer equipment which requires the skilled use of a standard alpha-numeric keyboard. The incumbent maintains confidentiality of prospective employees’ criminal history information at all times, per DCJS and FBI rules and regulations.
Additional Comments Shift: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday
Permanent, full-time appointment.
