Salary RangeFrom $50547 to $61229 Annually
Minimum Qualifications Current NYS employee with one year of permanent or contingent permanent service as a Secretary 2, SG-15; OR one year of permanent or contingent permanent service in a position allocated to a Grade 13 or above and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. Some candidates eligible for transfer may require a keyboarding skills proficiency test.

The preferred candidate should be highly motivated and an efficient individual interested in working in a fast paced, high volume, dynamic legal environment. The candidate must have good organizational skills; the ability to adjust workflow with shifting priorities; be competent entering information into electronic databases; be able to work independently, and have proficient communications skills.
Duties Description The Secretary 2 provides program and technical assistance to the Chief Administrative Law Judge, staff Administrative Law Judges and support staff. Duties include: maintaining and updating case tracking system; providing assistance to the general public by telephone or in person with regard to matters being handled by the Bureau of Adjudication; ensures telephone calls are routed to appropriate internal staff or to other outside agencies; handles upkeep service for Bureau’s law library; maintains the smooth operation of Bureau’s work flow, oversees the scheduling of hearings and coordination of hearing reporting services and interpreters; serves parties with Notices of Hearing, Decisions and Orders, and correspondence; assists with training and supervision of support staff and with the day-to-day administrative duties of the office.
Additional Comments Permanent, full-time.
Work Hours: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. – Monday through Friday
