Minimum Qualifications
One year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service as a Vocational Specialist 1 or eligible for transfer via Section 70.1 of Civil Service Law.



Duties Description As a Vocational Specialist 1 you would serve as a member of a treatment team at an OCFS limited secure treatment center for court placed/committed youth.
Under general supervision, assess the vocational needs of individual youth, develop and follow individual academic and career education plans, provide job readiness instruction, including employment counseling services, oversee development of youth portfolios (vocational folders), supervise work-based learning programs, and assist in job development efforts.
Supervise Vocational Instructors in the implementation of the various components of the career education and employment training program.
Additional duties will be discussed in detail during the interview.
