Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in public health, public administration or related field; experience coordinating public health interventions and familiarity with public health grant administration; experience serving as a liaison to an advisory group and/or conducting meeting facilitation, registration, minute-taking and follow-up; strong writing, organizational, and computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint as well as Share Point lists and WebX or other meeting/presentation software; experience with procurements and/or contract management.
Duties Description The Health Program Administrator (HPA), provides high-level administrative and programmatic support to programs within the Bureau of Cancer Prevention and Control. Administrative and programmatic duties include: assists with coordination and management of NYS Cancer Consortium (Consortium) Steering Committee, Action Team and full member meetings, and other internal and external partner and contractor meetings in support of cancer prevention, early detection and control priorities; develops agendas and compiles minutes, monitors implementation of Team action plans, plans webinars, assists with content for email and other communications, identifies and works with members to write and distribute member success stories, monitors NYSDOH website and works with program staff to update as needed, identifies and manages training resources and opportunities for Consortium members, bureau contractors and other local partners, conducts literature reviews and summarizes findings, and other duties in support of bureau programs. Fiscal and contract management duties include; develops and oversees procurements, conducts contract management, prepares reports, recommendations and program documents to inform programming, assesses, develops and collaborates with cancer programs to provide administrative, fiscal and programmatic contract guidance, and develops communications and contract monitoring protocols and site visits. As needed the HPA develops and helps implement training modules and plans, training and technical assistance resources, and education and promotion materials to prepare Consortium members, contractors and partners for successful implementation of their required contract deliverables and/or to communicate about the programs.
