Minimum Qualifications Current New York State employee with one year of permanent or contingent-permanent competitive service as an Associate Architect, G27.
Experience in project development of Assisted Living and/or Health Care Facilities; experience on major construction projects including review and approval of program, preliminary design and final construction documents; experience in program analysis including coordination of NYS regulatory requirements; experience in NFPA, Life Safety Codes and NYS Building Codes for residential health care facility planning; PC proficiency and plan review; knowledge of the Facility Guidelines Institute recommendations is essential.
Duties Description The incumbent will be responsible for the management and coordination of all in-house design reviews and architectural waivers for adult care facility/assisted living projects that involve new construction, repair or major renovations. Such reviews will be conducted in accordance with all NYS and local building codes and regulations governing the construction and environmental requirements for these building types. The incumbent will also lead an architectural workgroup whose mission will be to review and revise regulations and policies related to adult care and assisted living residences.
