Minimum Qualifications One year of permanent service in an affirmative action, minority business, employment compliance, human resources, or training position allocated at or above a Grade 18, or
Seven years of experience* in equal employment opportunity, human rights, or affirmative action.
*Qualifying experience includes working with community service organizations concerned with affirmative action, equal employment opportunity, civil rights, diversity management, minority business development, or similar programs; recruiting, training, and upgrading the educational and job qualifications of protected class members; or working in human resources in areas directly related to affirmative action.
Please note: An associates degree may substitute for two years of experience. A bachelors may substitute for four years of experience, and a JD or Masters degree for one additional year of experience.
Duties Description The individual selected for this position will work closely with the Director on the review and oversight of Department of Labor Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action programs. Responsibilities will include Affirmative Action and Equal Employment monitoring; reviewing requests and issuing determinations for reasonable accommodations; investigating and drafting reports for discrimination complaints; monitoring compliance with the American's with Disabilities Act; and assisting department managers in advancing diversity in the workplace. Additionally, the candidate selected will also work with a variety of local workforce programs to ensure compliance with Federal DOL requirements.
