Minimum Qualifications Open to NYS Employees: Current NYS employee and eligible to transfer under Section 70.1 or 70.4 of the Civil Service Law.
Open to the Public: There will be no written examination. If you meet the minimum qualifications, your education and experience will be evaluated against the general background/critical activities of the position.
Candidates must possess a license to practice as a practical nurse in New York State
Preference will be given to candidates with long-term care experience.
Duties Description As a LPN under the supervision of an RN, you would be involved in the treatment of residents. You would administer certain medications; observe residents and report changes in their condition; take and record temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure; and obtain specimens for analysis. You would prepare and apply simple dressings; bathe and feed resident; and care for residents and their quarters by performing such tasks as making beds, changing linen, lifting and moving residents and caring for their personal effects.
