Salary RangeFrom $56604 to $71980 Annually
Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be reachable for appointment from the appropriate Civil Service list for this title – appointment made at the Training Specialist Traineeship level. OR
Transfer Opportunity:
One year of permanent competitive service as a Training Specialist 1
eligible for transfer pursuant to Section 52.6 or Section 70.1of the Civil Service Law;
OR
One year of permanent competitive service as an Assistant Training Technician (YS);
OR
Eligible for Section 70.4 Transfer.*
*70.4 Transfer: If you are a State employee with at least one year of permanent competitive service in a title Grade 11 or higher and have a passing score on the PCT or the PMI lists, you may be eligible for appointment to a traineeship leading to the Grade 18.
Duties Description Training all security, health and safety, and trauma-related curricula, including but not limited to: Crisis Prevention and Management, NY Model, First Aid/CPR/AED, etc. for Raise the Age (RTA) programs across the state.
Partner with Juvenile Justice, to assess ongoing training needs, conduct training, and provide technical assistance for the maintenance of training programs, as needed.
Providing a similar level of support to other RTA programs, as requested. The incumbent will collaborate with other BTD staff for curricula development, to include the development of simulation outcome based training to be conducted at the NYS Human Services Training Center.
This position will require travel to offsite locations.

Additional Comments Travel required: 70% based on need Hours: 9am-5pm
Note: For appointments to the Training Specialist Trainee level, advancement to the Training Specialist 1 is automatic upon successful completion of a two-year traineeship.
