Duties Description The incumbent in this position is responsible for participating in accomplishing the College's mission by becoming actively involved in student personal growth and development, both within and outside the residence halls. Specific responsibilities include live-in supervision of a campus residence hall housing approximately 200 students.
Duties include counseling, educational programming, R.A. selection and training, individual and group advisement, administration/management responsibilities, department and/or campus committee involvement, support and enforcement of college policies and procedures, support and commitment to the Student Development department and SUNY Cobleskill. The position also carries responsibilities for an up to 20 hour per week assignment in another administrative area within the Residential Life Office or another College office as part of the administrative responsibility. The Residence Hall Director will be either a 10 month or 10.5 month employee and will participate in a campus-wide residence hall supervision schedule during the entire term of the appointment.
The Residence Hall Director works as a team member with a staff of nine other full-time professionals who report to the Director of Residential Life.
Additional Comments Preferred Requirements
In addition to the aforementioned minimum requirements, it is also preferred that the candidate have:
A Master's degree in Student Personnel Services, Human Services or a related field
Residence hall leadership experience

The salary grade for this position is $36,337 (10.5 month position, SL-2) or $34,607 (10 month position, SL-1).
The target starting date for this position is August/September 2018.
