Minimum Qualifications Reachable on current Civil Service list for this title; one year of permanent, competitive class service as a Data Processing Fiscal Systems Auditor 1; or one year of permanent, competitive class service in a title approved for transfer under Section 70.1 or Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law. Examples of eligible titles include: Financial Services Examiner 1, Senior Accountant, Senior Auditor, State Program Examiner 1, Tax Auditor 1. Please note, to be eligible for appointment to this position you may also need to provide proof of the additional special requirement of 6 semester credit hours in computer science.
If you are not a current state employee or not eligible for transfer, you may be eligible for provisional appointment. Minimum qualifications for provisional appointment are:
1. Bachelor's degree including or supplemented by 24 semester credit hours in accounting and/or auditing; six semester credit hours in computer science, and completion of a two-year traineeship
OR
2. Bachelor's degree including or supplemented by 24 semester credit hours in accounting and/or auditing; six semester credit hours in computer science, and possession of a valid Certified Information Systems Auditor designation by I.S.A.C.A. or two years of accounting, auditing, and/or computer science experience in a financial environment
Duties Description Under the direction of an Associate Internal Auditor, Audit Manager, or Audit Director, the incumbent will be responsible for contributing to a unit that conducts operational, compliance and performance audits and reviews from initial entrance conference through final reporting. The incumbent will also provide value added consultative services on an as needed basis. Audits and reviews will involve financial, programmatic and administrative areas. Experience in internal auditing, with an emphasis on information technology and security auditing is required. Approximately 10% travel is required to visit each of the State Insurance Fund's Business Offices, as needed, to perform audit procedures.
