Salary RangeFrom $53568 to $68192 Annually
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree, including or supplemented by 21 semester credit hours in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), surveying, cartography, and/or photogrammetry; and nine additional semester credit hours in any combination of cartography, photogrammetry, GIS, computer science, remote sensing, photo interpretation, statistics, and/or surveying.
Those on the Mapping Technologist 1 eligible list need not apply.
Duties Description The position of Mapping Technologist 1, under the direction of the Deputy Director, Planning and Executive Director, may perform any of the following services: be responsible for the management of computer-based cartographic information developing, or assisting in the development and maintenance of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and assist with photogrammetry related tasks; perform aerotriangulation; operating analytical stereoplotters; project planning and documentation; assist in aerotriangulation (AT); assist in creating orthomosaics; ensure quality of in-house mapping; performs digital file management activities; assists in the development and documentation of policies, procedures, specifications, and standards to achieve highly accurate and quality mapping products in the most efficient manner. The incumbent may assist higher-level Mapping Technologists with portions of more complex automated projects, project management of computer-based cartographic information, and development and maintenance of computer-based cartographic information systems. Duties require knowledge of mapping theory and principles and the ability to apply this knowledge in evaluating and preparing mapping products.
