SECTION 70.4 TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS:

You may be eligible for a section 70.4 transfer if you have one year of permanent or contingent-permanent service as a Grade 11 or higher, meet the open competitive qualifications for the title, and have taken and passed the most recent Investigative Officer 1 or Investigative Officer Trainee open-competitive exams.

Duties Description The Investigative Officer 1/Trainee will investigate allegations of claimant fraud. The incumbent will interview and obtain sworn testimony of employers, UI claimants, and witnesses; connect and analyze evidence for comprehensive written reports; and issue determinations on behalf of the Commissioner of Labor.

As this position requires travel, the appointee must have a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State and have a motor vehicle or otherwise demonstrate their capacity to meet the transportation needs of the position.
