Minimum Qualifications Two years of experience in maintenance or mechanical work under the supervision of a skilled trades-worker or completion of an appropriate two-year technical school course.
Duties Description Perform a wide range of maintenance work on DEC owned lands and facilities, including carpentry, painting, mowing, equipment operation, plumbing, chainsaw operation, masonry, hand work, etc.
Other maintenance work may be required such as painting boundary lines in wintertime, picking litter from fisherman parking lots, responding to flooding or other natural disasters.
Additional Comments Must have valid driver's license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain, work in remote areas and in adverse weather conditions. Travel and overtime may be required. Must be available for emergency response. Must be available to respond to after-hours emergencies. Must have a valid Class B CDL within 6 months of appointment with appropriate endorsements. Must be able to lift and move objects up to 80 pounds.
The anticipated end date of the position is 03/31/19. Work days and hours will be discussed at interview.
