Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Duties Description The New York State Education Department’s Performance Improvement Management Services is seeking candidates for an Information Technology Specialist 4 (Systems Programming) position in the Office of Information Technology Services (ITS). The incumbent of this position will support the Department’s internal and external websites, perform advanced technical work, and manage coordination of complex projects involving various ITS units, Department program offices, other New York State agencies and vendors. Duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Develop detailed technical project plans for website maintenance, upgrades, and enhancements;
• Develop and document Drupal 7/8 architecture for delivery of strategic Department content, both via the cloud and on premise;
• Perform Drupal 7/8 tuning, performance analysis, and capacity planning;
• Collaborate with ITS staff and customers to minimize the negative impact of changes to the website environments;
• Diagnose and correct problems;
• Monitor the security of the Drupal 7/8 environment to detect violations; and
• Mentor junior Drupal 7/8 developers, review and approve work efforts, and develop and enforce Department Drupal 7/8 standards.

Additional Comments CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: This will be a permanent appointment. Promotions and transfers may change appointee’s negotiating unit. Applicants should be aware that changes in negotiating units may affect their salary, insurance, and other benefits. This position will require periodic night and weekend work.

*Leads to a maximum salary of $102,661 based on annual performance advances.
