Minimum Qualifications Active list candidate on the New York State Department of Civil Service’s Professional Career Opportunities (PCO) eligible list #26-240 with a score of 100.0 or higher OR qualified 55B/C candidate in possession of a Bachelor’s or higher degree.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Strong writing and organizational skills; good attention to detail; ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and deadlines; and strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and Outlook.
Duties Description The Human Resources Specialist 1 will be responsible for a full spectrum of workforce management, including staffing, recruitment, position classification, examination planning, and succession planning. The incumbent will provide technical assistance to programs in the administration and interpretation of Civil Service Law, Rule and policy, as well as agency specific policies and procedures.
Additional Comments Contingent-Permanent, full-time. Two-year traineeship leading to a G-18 Human Resources Specialist 1. The position will require regional and statewide travel which may include overnights. Travel may include locations not served by public transportation.
