FOR TRANSFER: Current Developmental Disabilities Program Specialist 1 or one year of permanent service in a title eligible for 70.1 transfer per Civil Service Rules and Regulations.

PROVISIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
You must be a qualified employee of the New York State Office for People With Developmental Disabilities and have had three months of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a position at a Grade 16 or above and one year of permanent service in an eligible title .

Duties Description POSITION DESCRIPTION:

This position will serve as Supervisor for the Central New York Front Door Intake Team. Under the supervision of the Team Leader, persons in this position assist in ensuring all Regional Office Team 1 functions are performed with a high level of quality, focusing primarily in the areas of Front Door Intake/Assessment/Training and Service Authorization.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides supervision to Front Door Intake Staff.
• Ensures timely response to OPWDD service inquiries and assures intakes are assigned promptly.
• Monitors staff performance in moving service applicants through the Front Door Key Process Steps.
• Ensures availability of routine OPWDD “Front Door Overview” trainings.
• Ensures staff have a good working knowledge of OPWDD supports and services and that staff are familiar with the OPWDD transformational agenda.
• Ensures Front Door staff are working with Care Managers to complete the service authorization/waiver enrollment process.
• Ensures EAA tools are submitted accurately and timely to DDRO Director/Designee and that service authorization letters are completed and issued.
• Works closely with Eligibility staff, CCO Liaison and the Waiver Team to promote a positive experience for those going through the Front Door.
• Represents Central New York in local and statewide meetings regarding Front Door Processes.
• Acts as “backup” for team leader as needed.
• Additional projects as assigned.

Additional Comments PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Possess a working knowledge of the Front Door Process, Care Coordination Enrollment and HCBS Waiver Enrollment Process.
• Demonstrate an ability to develop and present well-organized and effective training and education to internal and external stakeholders in a cogent and professional manner.
• Demonstrate knowledge of CNYDDRO/OPWDD policies and procedures, especially those related to service development and standards compliance as it relates to OPWDD-funded services.
• Be flexible in their work schedule and able to adjust work hours to meet program needs, and assist team members in response/supports to urgent consumer/family needs.
• Demonstrate empathy, respect and warmth when interacting with those we serve and their families/advocates, colleagues within the Regional Office, as well as colleagues in Central Office, State Operations and the other Provider Agencies the RO is associated with along with the public at large.
• Possess an ability to communicate in a thorough, concise, accurate and professional manner both verbally and in writing, including the ability to speak in public for the purpose of sharing information related to the RO and various Team 1 functions.
• Have demonstrated an ability to manage time well and work independently, including having shown an ability to travel to and from various sites in a reasonable amount of time, ensuring that OPWDD and the Regional Office is consistently represented in a manner which exemplifies professionalism and honors the public trust.
• Possess a positive work history (E-file).
• Possess an acceptable attendance record as specified in CNYDDSO’s T&A Policy.
