Minimum Qualifications Current Division of Homeland Security & Emergency Services employee with permanent, contingent-permanent or 55b/c service as an Office Assistant 2 Keyboarding and interested in reassignment; OR current New York State employee with one year or more of permanent, contingent-permanent or 55b/c service as an Office Assistant 2 Keyboarding; OR current New York State employee with one year or more of permanent, contingent-permanent or 55b/c service in a position allocated to the Grade 07 or above and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.*
*Must demonstrate adequate keyboarding skills by prior service in a keyboarding title or successful completion of a Keyboard Specialist performance test.

Duties Description • Scheduling of courses requested by the county and full-time staff.
• Process payroll for the 563 State Fire Instructors in NYS.
• Process procurement requests for the office as needed.
• Review and approve travel expense reports for State Fire Instructors.
• Processing of fire reports.
• Provide Documentation Leader support to the Fire Operations Center as assigned during emergencies.
• Formatting and typing correspondence, reports and other related materials.
• Creating spreadsheets.
• Developing and maintaining the office filing system.
• Managing record maintenance activities.
Additionally, the Office Assistant 2 will ensure that the work product is processed in accordance with established directives and procedures of OFPC as well as perform other tasks which fall under the Classification Standard of the Office Assistant 2. This position may be assigned administrative work at the OFPC Fire Operations Center and/or State Emergency Operations Center during activations and emergencies.
Additional Comments NOTE: Support of operations during times of emergency and disaster from State Emergency Operations Center (EOC), state field offices and/or local deployments may be required, which would result in a change and/or increase in working hours, locations and/or duties.
