Minimum Qualifications The selected candidate will work under the direct supervision of the Regional Director and confidentially assist him in daily matters of state business, park operations and employee relations. The incumbent will perform general office tasks such as reception, keyboarding, taking/transcribing notes/minutes/dictations, proofreading/editing, preparation of forms, and maintaining/creating filing systems. The incumbent will maintain the Regional Director’s calendar, schedule and organize meetings/conference calls, and arrange and process the Regional Director’s travel. The incumbent will communicate on behalf of the Regional Director with various persons/groups including, but not limited to, park patrons, employees and managers, Regional Commissioners, Albany Executive staff, government officials and members of the media. The incumbent will also supervise the regional receptionist and delegate simple office tasks.

Duties Description Candidates must be New York State employees reachable for appointment on the current Civil Service eligible list for Secretary 2, list #37-924, or eligible to transfer under Civil Service Law, Section 70.1.

Candidates must be proficient using Microsoft Office programs.
The candidate must possess the ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
The candidate must have decision-making skills and be able to work independently.
