Minimum Qualifications Permanent service as an Office Assistant 1 (Keyboarding), SG-6; or reachable for appointment from the existing Beginning Office Assistant eligible list OR one year of permanent competitive service in a keyboarding or clerical title, SG-4 or higher and be eligible to transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
Candidates who have not already passed a keyboarding performance test will need to do so if selected. Candidates eligible for 55-b/c appointment are also eligible to apply.

Duties Description Reporting to the program manager of the Registry & Records Unit, this position provides administrative support for the Registry & Records Unit, within the Office of Public Safety. The incumbent will perform the following duties, including but not limited to:

• Significant interaction with customers via telephone and email;
• Data entry to create and maintain law enforcement and security guard training records;
• The organization and dissemination of incoming mail for all bureau staff;
• Filing and organization of program files, both in hard copy and electronic format;
• Processing requests for records from external customers; and
• Reviewing customer forms for completeness.
The incumbent may be redeployed to other units within the Office of Public Safety if organizational needs dictate.

Additional Comments Appointment is subject to Division of Budget waiver approval.
