Minimum Qualifications • Seven years of experience at the managerial level with responsibility for the technology function(s) for a complex organization with 300 or more employees,
Or
• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field and five years of experience at the managerial level with responsibility for the technology function(s) for a complex organization with 300 or more employees
Duties Description Provide leadership in all aspects of the technology function at NYSTRS
• Responsibility for the development, documentation and implementation of the short and long-term System technology strategic plan
• Oversight of the evaluation and implementation of new systems and infrastructure
• Advise executive and management staff, including the CEO and COO, on all matters associated with technology including cloud services and offerings, security safeguards, data governance and storage requirements
• Oversight and responsiblity for maintaining adequate infrastructure performance levels
• Develop and monitor key performance indicators and take required action
• Work collaboratively with all System staff to ensure applications are developed on appropriate platforms
• Ensure all NYSTRS data centers are redundant and can be recovered within stated time objectives
• Work directly with all technology management to ensure positive morale in technology related departments
• Oversight and responsbility for the efficient utilization of all technology related staff
• Ensure adequate staffing levels are maintained
• Oversight of development and implementation of the annual operating and capital technology budget
• Work collaboratively with other management/executive staff to gain acceptance of new technologies and security/compliance standards
• Perform other duties as required

• Familiarity with current and emerging technological trends
• Experience working with cloud service providers and/or third party software providers
