Duties Description This Senior Transportation Analyst will assist the Associate Transportation Analyst, the Manager of the Unit, in coordinating each Freight Plan and Coordinated Public Transit Human Services Transportation Plan (Coordinated Plan) development cycle, with member agency staff and through the PFAC Freight Subcommittee, the Freight Transportation Working Group and the Coordinated Plan Group. Duties include, but are not limited to:
Supervise Transportation Analysts work activities for each development cycle.
For the above-mentioned Plans, assume project management and consultant management responsibilities in support of the Unit Manager, including preparation of work scopes, liaison with Administration Group in preparation of task orders and/or RFPs, support the evaluation and selection of proposals, liaison with Administration Group in preparation of contractual documents, and manage specific projects, including consultant management, timelines and products.
Develop and manage the timeline for each Plan’s development cycle.
Assist the Unit Manager in developing a public involvement program for each Plan’s development cycle.
Coordinate all freight planning activities for NYMTC, including coordination with USDOT staff, neighboring MPOs and other stakeholders.
Coordinate all human services/special needs transportation activities for NYMTC, including coordination with USDOT staff, liaison with NYMTC and NYSDOT staff on FTA Section 5310 activities, and coordinate with relevant stakeholders.
Represent NYMTC on Statewide and Metropolitan Area Planning (MAP) Forum’s Freight Working Groups.
Serve on subcommittees or working groups (both internal and external) to facilitate and support each Plan’s development cycle.
Maintain and update the Freight and Coordinated Plans as required.
Prepare draft correspondence, reports, documents, presentations, handouts and brochures.
Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the Department’s response to regional and statewide emergency situations.
