Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
52.6 Transfer: One year of permanent competitive or 55 b/c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law.
Eligible list appointment: One year of permanent competitive or 55 b/c service as a Human Resources Specialist 1 or Senior Personnel Administrator, AND reachable on the Human Resources Specialist 2 promotion list.
Duties Description The New York State Education Department’s Office of Human Resources Management is seeking applicants for the position of Human Resources Specialist 2. This Office provides personnel services, staff development, labor relations and employee benefits to staff in various diverse program areas within the Education Department, including the Office of P-12 Education, the Office of Adult Career and Continuing Education Services, the Office of the Professions, the Office of Cultural Education, the Office of Higher Education, the Office of Performance Improvement and Management Services, and the Office of the Chief Financial Officer.
Under the supervision of the Associate Director Human Resources 2, the Human Resources Specialist 2 will serve as a human resources generalist for one or more of the major Department programs or Offices. The incumbent will perform, and supervise staff in the performance of, activities related to classification and compensation, recruitment and examinations, staffing services, labor relations and advising program staff on personnel matters.
*Leads to a maximum salary of $91,658 based on annual performance advances.
