Minimum Qualifications We are seeking an attorney with a minimum of five (5) years of New York State prosecutorial experience, including significant experience in the investigation of white-collar crimes, utilizing techniques such as search warrants, cell-site orders, cooperating witnesses, and forensic analysis of large volumes of documents and financial records. The candidate must have substantial grand jury and trial experience, be highly motivated and results-oriented, and possess excellent communication and writing skills.
Applicants must reside in (or intend to soon become a resident of) New York State and be admitted to practice law in New York State. In addition, the Public Officers Law requires that OAG attorneys be citizens of the United States. A two (2) year commitment upon being hired is a condition of employment.
Duties Description The New York State Office of the Attorney General (OAG) is seeking an experienced attorney for the Auto Insurance Fraud Unit (AIFU), located in New York City. AIFU is a unit within the Criminal Enforcement and Financial Crimes Bureau, and has statewide jurisdiction to investigate and prosecute auto insurance fraud and related crimes, including investigations into corrupt doctors, lawyers, healthcare providers, steerers, hospital employees, lay owners of medical facilities, auto body shops, insurance brokers, and participants in staged accidents. AIFU includes attorneys, investigators, auditors, and analysts who conduct complex, long-term criminal investigations and prosecute cases statewide, from charging through conviction.
