Minimum Qualifications Current Department of Health (DOH) employee with permanent or contingent-permanent status as a Health Program Administrator (G18); OR current NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service in a title eligible to transfer under Section 52.6, Section 70.1, or Section 70.4 of the Civil Service Law to a Health Program Administrator (G18), Health Program Administrator Trainee 1 (NS), or Health Program Administrator Trainee 2 (NS). Preferred Qualifications: The preferred candidate would have experience with Federal Food Programs; strong computer skills and ability to analyze data; excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments; and experience working in a team-based environment.
Duties Description Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) is a federally funded public health nutrition program which provides reimbursement for healthy meals and snacks served to children in family day care homes, day care centers, emergency shelters, afterschool programs and adults in day care. The Health Program Administrator (HPA) will help monitor day care home sponsor compliance with regulation, policies and procedures. The HPA will provide technical assistance to sponsors, conduct site visits and review and approve new day care home provider applications. Duties also include reviewing vouchers, contract documents, entering provider approval information into the CACFP Information and Payment System(CIPS), and troubleshooting problem application data
Additional Comments Permanent or contingent-permanent, full-time. Frequent travel within New York State, including overnights and to locations that may not be served by public transportation, may be required. This is a two-year traineeship leading to a G18.
