Duties Description The Appointments Examiner 1 is assigned to the Employment Records Section of the Staffing Services Division and is responsible for the following:
• Processing personnel transactions in the NYS Electronic Personnel System (NYSTEP), while adhering to strict payroll deadlines for both institution and administrative payrolls.
• Developing a strong working knowledge of NYSTEP and Civil Service Laws, Rules and Regulations to process personnel transactions such as appointments, separations and leaves.
• Providing professional assistance to New York State agencies.
