Salary RangeFrom $61215 to $76450 Annually
Minimum Qualifications Either 1) Reachable on the Civil Service eligible list 2) Eligible for reassignment by virtue of having permanent competitive service as a Business Systems Analyst 1 (18); OR 3) Eligible for transfer under the provisions of sections 52.6,70.4 or 70.1 of the Civil Service Law by virtue of having one year of permanent competitive service in an appropriate title.
Duties Description The duties for the Business Systems Analyst 1 include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Document as-is/to-be and creation of flows (traditional and cross-functional) or models according to NYSTRS standards and recognized business analysis methodologies
• Manage the relationship with project stakeholders to identify, model and document business process, as well as data requirements
• Translate technical complexities to project stakeholders, ensuring thorough understanding of design decisions, while working with Information Technology teams to ensure requirements are understood, developed, tested and delivered to specification
• Validate that solutions meet business needs by developing, maintaining and executing test plans, test cases and test data along with performing unit testing and documenting results
• Assist with coordination of quality assurance testing and testing efforts including documenting and reporting user feedback and noted defects
• Develop training and user support materials in support of Information Technology related projects
• Research product functionality, as needed, and perform analysis of various processes to assist users in their understanding of the various NYSTRS business applications
• Provide project support as needed
Additional Comments Preferred Skills:
• Significant experience with requirements gathering and documentation
• Experience in information technology methodologies including working with developers and business users
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• The ability to develop and forge strong relationships and build consensus among competing stakeholders
• Experience working on large scale multi-year projects using a formal project management approach
• Experience with working on projects utilizing Waterfall and Agile Project Management methodologies during large scale enterprise projects
• Experience and proficiency in facilitating meetings and interviews with end users at all levels of an organization
• Experience communicating in a professional manner with Executive and Management staff
• Experience with Microsoft Visio creating business process flows and cross-functional flowcharts
• Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio and Microsoft Project effectively and efficiently
• Knowledge in ITIL v3 standards, cloud concepts and architecture
• Experience creating training content including documentation and videos
• Self-starter, motivated and able to work independently
• Commitment to providing exceptional customer service
• Excellent interpersonal skills
