Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
Applicant must be able to physically perform the tasks of the position and to communicate effectively to obtain and convey information. Must be able to demonstrate their reliability/dependability. Travel on the campuses and between campuses may be necessary. If the candidate does not have a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in NYS, they must be able to demonstrate their ability to meet the transportation needs of the position.
Preferred Qualifications:
Institutional cleaning is preferred. Must of an excellent attendance record and documented experience in supervising others. A valid license to operate a motor vehicle in NYS is preferred
Duties Description Position Summary:
Campus Living is seeking a Janitor. The duties of this position will be:
• Performing a variety of general custodial tasks and the use of equipment in the cleaning of bathrooms, kitchens, hallways, stairways furniture, ceilings, lounges, meeting rooms, offices and student rooms.
• Periodic snow removal from walkways.
• Providing general oversight of a small crew; general guidance and day-to-day assignment of work tasks.
• May respond to emergency cleaning situations during shift
Candidates must possess and be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of cleaning procedures, products, equipment and have a strong commitment to providing outstanding customer service. Good communication skills are necessary as is the ability to follow and give directions and instructions. Must be able to prepare written reports. Travel within and between campuses may be necessary. Since the activities of other employees depend on the availability of the janitor, reliable attendance is a factor that will be considered when filling this vacancy.
