Minimum Qualifications

Duties Description
The Administrative Specialist 1 will coordinate the administrative activities which may include, but are not be limited to:
• Manage office administrative functions including personnel and hiring, contracts, finances, purchasing including purchase orders and vouchers, inventory, travel including attachments and PTA’s, equipment and office space needs.
• Prepare procedures to describe, revise, and control work activities.
• Develop and implement record-keeping systems and controls.
• May supervise clerical, secretarial staff and professional staff assigned to the office by performing the full range of supervisory activities.
• Conduct studies and research projects regarding program issues, offices priorities and activities for executive management
• Provide technical assistance to program managers; review and update organizational policies and procedures and staffing plan.
• Conduct training related to office procedures and policies
• Represent management at meetings or sit in on committees on behalf of management; interpret and distribute policies and procedures
Responsibilities will include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the Department’s response to regional and statewide emergency situations
